We keep the memory of people close to us as long as we are alive. Monuments “live” longer than people. And good monuments will tell more than one generation of people about a person’s services to society.
Relatives and staff of the weekly Tokmak News contacted the OMI studio with a request to make a monument for the grave of the writer, journalist, founder of this publication Alexey Ivanovich Matvienko.
“When starting work with a customer, we try to accept and pass through all the information about the person who is to make the monument, hear the client’s wishes, and also understand his capabilities. Summarizing the order, I try to offer the customer the optimal option from all points of view - both in terms of image and combination of materials. The accumulated experience almost always suggests the right decision. This is what happened this time too,” said art director of the OMI studio Bogdan Kazachenko.

Guided by the activity to which Alexey Matvienko devoted his entire life, the image of a man who thought about the culmination phrase of the book of his life was chosen. And the granite pedestal of the monument serves as a table.
The bust of the writer is made of fiberglass coated with bronze. In this case, the price of the monument is much lower, but in no way inferior in properties and appearance to a monument cast from bronze. Over time, the coating will “age” just as if the tombstone was made entirely of bronze.

“We installed the headstone in November of this year. It was decided to postpone the landscaping of the territory and the design of flower beds until the spring of next year,” noted Bogdan Kazachenko.
