Ordered by the film studio named after. A. Dovzhenko masters of the OMI studio created a memorial plaque to the outstanding Ukrainian director Viktor Mikhailovich Ivanov. Viewers are well aware of his paintings such as “Chasing Two Hares”, “Olexa Dovbush”, “Keys to Heaven” and others.
The creation of the memorial plaque was preceded by a long process. Based on the submitted photographs of the director, the masters of the OMI studio created a sketch of the memorial plaque, which was approved by the customer. Next, an intermediate version is molded from clay. The master tried to convey maximum similarity in the portrait, while giving the face an emotional coloring. According to the commissioner, the director’s name is inextricably linked with the cult film “Chasing Two Hares.” The storyline of the memorial plaque successfully interweaves the famous characters of an equally popular feature film over the years, shot at the film studio named after. Dovzhenko in 1961. The correct ratio of sizes and placement of figures successfully conveys a holistic picture of the director: being equal participants in the composition, nevertheless, Svirid Golokhvostov and Pronya Prokopovna did not overshadow the image of their creator. The final version of the board is made of bronze.
