After the customer approves the drawing, we begin preparing the surface and applying the drawing,” said Igor Ashcheulov, art director of the OMI studio.

The surface is treated with various materials depending on the functional purpose of the room, but it definitely goes through the stage of degreasing, plastering and applying primer. If the wall is old, it is also necessary to pay special attention to removing old layers of paint and plaster, which may crumble over time, and to properly seal all cracks.

“If an artist starts work without preparing the walls, think about whether you can trust such a master. The drawing with the wall is a single whole and it will be very disappointing if after a short time a piece of old plaster falls off or a crack appears. Therefore, special attention should be paid to the issue of surface preparation. And only after that you can work with paints,” noted Igor Ashcheulov.

To fix the artistic painting, the masters of the OMI studio use a varnish coating for additional protection of the drawing.
