City Council Secretary Oleg Kolyuka and City Council Deputy, Deputy Head of the Public Administration Ekaterina Koltunova paid tribute to the board with a minute of silence in front of the board. The memorial plaque was unveiled before the death of the chief sergeant of the rifle platoon Viktor Shary, who died on December 18, 2022 in the battle near Bakhmut.

Created by the masters of the OMI studio, the bas-relief on a board with a blue and yellow banner was taken by daughter Ekaterina and wife Irina. Viktor Shary’s life principle was to be where it was hardest. He dedicated his life to serving in the special forces and took part in the fighting in the Donbass.
His comrades emphasized his motivation and dedication to his ideals. Ekaterina, the daughter of Victor Shary, recalls his last words: Katya, I do what I know and what I can do! She emphasizes that people like her father are fighting for the freedom of Ukraine.
