Golden Mushrooms in the Mountains: OMI Studio Transforms New Tavria V Supermarket in Bukovel with Fantastic Decorations

Bukovel, Ukraine — In the heart of the Ukrainian Carpathians, a new Tavria V supermarket has opened its doors, and its interior has already become a true landmark of the ski resort. This transformation is thanks to the creative work of the prop makers and decorators from OMI Studio, who turned the retail space into a magical art installation.

The centerpiece of the design is a series of giant golden mushrooms, handcrafted from foam with protective coatings and painted in rich, golden hues. Some of these fantastical sculptures reach heights of two, three, and even four meters, appearing to organically "grow" out of the walls and floor. Scattered throughout different areas of the store, these sculptural elements create the illusion of a living fairytale forest, full of mystery and enchantment.

“Our goal is not just to decorate a retail space, but to create an atmosphere people want to return to. We want shoppers at Tavria V in Bukovel to feel like they’re stepping into something extraordinary — to be immersed in fantasy and visually delighted with every visit,” the OMI Studio team shared.

Each decoration is the result of meticulous handcrafting. The studio's team developed custom designs, built 3D models, cut and tinted the foam shapes, and then coated them with durable protective materials to ensure they withstand high foot traffic and the variable climate of the resort area.

The Bukovel project is not OMI Studio’s first. The company specializes in creating bespoke decorations for shopping malls, supermarkets, restaurants, and event spaces, offering a full production cycle — from concept to installation. Their work adorns dozens of locations across Ukraine, consistently generating admiration from visitors and buzz on social media.\
