The masters of the OMI studio created the Eldorado robot figure

In October 2015, on the eve of the opening of the new Eldorado equipment supermarket in Kiev, the masters of the OMI studio completed the plastic embodiment of the company symbol - the Eldorado robot figure. “This is quite a complex order. The Eldorado company ordered an articulated robot with a shifted center of gravity and a height of average human height. We were given 30 days to do everything.

I would even say 30 days of round-the-clock work, since the norm for this type of order is a period of 2 months. But thanks to the professionalism of the team and mutual assistance, we accomplished the seemingly impossible. Having undertaken to do the work, we cannot let the client down,” emphasized the art director of the OMI studioBogdan Kazachenko.

Before starting work, the merger masters created a 3D model of the future figure on the computer. The robot is manufactured using technologies and materials used in yacht building; Eldorado robot is coated with automotive paints and varnish on top. Thanks to this, we can say that the service life of the figure exceeds 20 years. And the use of LED technology allows the robot’s internal lighting to be used for more than 6 years without replacing the LEDs.

“Almost all parts of the robot have a spherical and streamlined shape; in their manufacture we used vacuum forming. The figure is articulated, all components move, and the head is disproportionately large. Therefore, it was a certain difficulty to achieve stability of the figure,” noted the master of the OMI StudioSergey Nazarenko.

The robot still stands today in the Eldorado supermarket in the Guliver shopping center, attracting customers with its appearance. According to the hall workers, both children and adults love to take pictures with Eldorado robot.
