The masters of the OMI studio created a kinetic model of an oil rig
In March 2016, OMI studio craftsmen made a kinetic model of an oil rig to participate in an exhibition in Germany. The customer was the Dnepropetrovsk advertising agency Premier AS. The 2.2-meter-high model, thanks to installed mechanisms, simulates pumping out oil. As Bogdan Kazachenko, art director of the OMI studio, noted, a special feature of this order was the connection of the oil rig to the tablet. According to the client's idea, the exhibition participant must complete a simple computer game on a tablet and, in case of victory, a box with a prize is automatically pulled out from the tower model.
“In fact, in Ukraine, few people make architectural models of this level. In addition to the fact that in a short time - 20 days passed from the moment of receiving the order until the delivery of the layout to the customer - we created the design of the dynamic layout itself, connected it to the tablet, but the software for implementing the client’s idea was developed by the masters of the OMI studio, - Bogdan Kazachenko emphasized.
When making the model, rigid structures were used, onto which parts made of PVC and aluminum profiles were fixed, and various elements were connected, which made it possible to set the tower in motion and connect it to the tablet. p>
According to the customer, in such a simple and at the same time unusual way they managed to attract attention to the company participating in the exhibition.
