On July 9, 2016, in Kamensky (Dneprodzerzhinsk), on the occasion of the celebration of Family Day, the grand opening of the Alley of Lovers took place in the central park of culture and recreation. The event was attended by the mayor of Kamensky Andrey Belousov, the ideological inspirers of the project and the performers of the work - masters of the association of masters of art of Ukraine (OMI studio), deputies, philanthropists, newlyweds, couples in love and the public. The opening was marked by the laying of the first “love granites” around the fountain with engraved names of the young spouses, who were also present at the celebration.
The opening ceremony was accompanied by a concert program, competitions, games and, of course, not without cupids, flowers, dancing, gifts, declarations of love and a photo shoot.
As art director of the OMI studio Igor Ascheulov said, the grand opening was preceded by a long, painstaking work.

“We have been nurturing this idea for 8 long years. I wanted to do something special for the city in which I was born, to tell it about my feelings, and over time this desire only grew stronger. I would like that, along with the Alley of Lovers, residents would have a place where they could come to take pictures, communicate, make acquaintances, start families, and then come here with their children and tell them about their love story,” emphasized Igor Ascheulov. p>
It took almost two months to implement the project. The masters of the OMI studio created and installed attributes designed to unite citizens around such a wonderful feeling as love. The park now has a “heartfelt” bench, several benches for romantic meetings, a reconciliation bench, a place for kissing, a tree with “family castles” and the main elements of the alley - the Book of Love, which will include granite pages of love stories of the residents of Kamensky and an arch of happiness. p>
Anyone can order love granite as a gift for a wedding, wedding anniversary, or as a declaration of intent to tie the knot. The first granite tiles will be installed around the fountain, then along the alley.
“I want to say a huge thank you to the mayor of Kamensky Andrey Belousov for his help in organizing the “Alley of Lovers” project and to the residents of the city - the heads of companies who treated both the idea and its implementation with understanding , taking part in financing the creation of the appropriate infrastructure. I also want to appeal to the residents of the city with a request to take care of the created beauty. Only we ourselves can determine which city we should live in – a beautiful and comfortable one or something else,” commented Igor Ascheulov.
