The monument to the Black Sea “hachiko” will appear in June
The sculpture of the Black Sea “hachiko”, Saint Bernard Lord, will be installed in June. In total, 30 thousand hryvnia were spent on creating the monument, writes the Chernomorsk Info publication.
Volunteer Svetlana Braichenko, who looked after the dog in his old age and after his death began collecting funds for the monument, said that the required amount was raised in three months. Thus, 25 thousand hryvnia were spent on making the monument itself, and another 5 thousand on the plaque, transfer of the sculpture and other expenses.
The monument was made by two sculptors from the Association of Art Masters of Ukraine - Bogdan Kazachenko and Alexander Prytula. They used polyester resins and fiberglass in their work, and painted the monument itself bronze.
“We just have to install the monument on a solid pedestal,” said volunteer Svetlana Braichenko. – He will stand opposite the entrance to the children's clinic, where St. Bernard Lord lived.
Let us remind you that on January 25 of this year, a dog died in Chernomorsk, which, after the death of its owner - an employee of a local children's clinic - had lived near his work for 10 years.
